Safari Jungle Theme: Game Ideas

  1. Jungle Animal Scavenger Hunt

Objective: Kids search for hidden jungle animals around the party area.

Materials Needed:

  • Small plastic or plush jungle animals
  • Printed scavenger hunt checklist
  • Safari bags or baskets for collecting

Rules:

  1. Hide toy animals around the party space (indoors and outdoors).
  2. Give each child a scavenger hunt checklist with the names or pictures of the animals they need to find.
  3. The first child to find all the animals wins, but everyone gets a prize for participating.

  1. Monkey See, Monkey Do (Simon Says: Jungle Edition)

Objective: Follow the leader’s jungle-themed movements.

Materials Needed:

Rules:

  1. One player is chosen as the Safari Guide (Simon).
  2. The guide calls out jungle-themed commands like:
    • “Monkey says swing like a chimp!”
    • “Monkey says roar like a lion!”
    • “Stomp like an elephant!” (Oops, no “Monkey says” – you’re out!)
  3. If the leader doesn’t say “Monkey says” and a child still does the action, they’re out.
  4. Last child standing wins.

  1. Snake Pit Limbo

Objective: See who can limbo the lowest under the jungle vines.

Materials Needed:

  • A limbo stick (or rope decorated with green vines)
  • Jungle music for atmosphere

Rules:

  1. Line up the kids and play jungle-themed music.
  2. Each child takes turns bending backward to go under the “snake pit vine” without touching it.
  3. Lower the vine after each round.
  4. The last player standing wins.

  1. Animal Footprint Relay Race

Objective: Race to the finish while stepping on animal footprints.

Materials Needed:

  • Large cutouts of jungle animal footprints

  2. Kids must only step on the footprints as they race.

  3. If they step off a stone, they fall into the crocodile-infested water and are out.

Objective: Find and collect hidden “bugs” around the jungle.

  2. Give each child a “bug collection cup.”
  3. The child who collects the most bugs in five minutes wins.

  1. Parrot Squawk Challenge

Objective: Mimic jungle animal sounds to win points.

Materials Needed:

  • A list of jungle animals (lion, monkey, elephant, snake, parrot, etc.)

Rules:

  1. Each child picks an animal card and must imitate its sound.
  2. The best and funniest jungle squawks and roars earn points from the crowd.
  3. Everyone votes for the best jungle call performer.

  1. Pin the Tail on the Tiger

Objective: Blindfolded kids try to pin a tail onto the tiger’s body.

Materials Needed:

  • Large tiger poster

  2. They must try to pin the tiger’s tail in the right place.
